    Kitu Deploys 190 Electric Vehicle Chargers at Fairplex-Home of LA Fair

    January 12, 2021. Pomona, California  -- Last month, Kitu Systems completed the deployment of 190 networked Electric Vehicle (EV) chargers for  Fairplex , in Pomona, CA. The chargers are installed at three campus locations: The Sheraton Fairplex Hotel, The Finish Line Sports Bar & Grill, and the Main Parking Lot. This deployment is the largest project of Southern California Edison’s (SCE’s)  Charge Ready Program .

    Kitu Extends Cybersecurity Leadership with SOC 2 Type 2 Compliance

    November 19, 2020. San Diego, California -- Kitu Systems, the leader in the evolution to New Energy Networks, today announced completion of its Systems and Organization Controls (SOC) for Services Organization (SOC 2) Type 2 compliance as of October 15, 2020. The examination was performed by an independent auditing firm, and its scope included the 2017 Trust Services Criteria (TSP section 100) regarding Common Criteria/Security, Availability, and Processing Integrity. Achieving SOC 2 Type 2 compliance enhances Kitu’s position as a trusted partner for utilities and all parties that rely on the security and integrity of the electric grid.

    Kitu's End-to-End Software Suite Achieves SunSpec CSIP Certification

    October 7, 2020. San Diego, California – Kitu Systems announces SunSpec certification of its Citadel™ IEEE 2030.5 utility server, joining the ranks of other products in its Azimuth™ platform for DER interconnection.

     

    California Electric Rule 21 governs the interconnection requirements between generation facilities and utilities' distribution systems. Rule 21 mandates the use of IEEE 2030.5 as the default communication protocol for smart inverters. Effective June 2020, all smart inverters deployed in the three California IOU territories must be certified to be compliant with the SunSpec Common Smart Inverter Profile (CSIP).

    New Solar Incentive Program Comes to Santa Ana

    April 27 2020. Santa Ana, California - Kitu Systems, in conjunction with Southern California Edison, is rolling out a solar and storage incentive program called EASE, funded by the Department of Energy and the California Energy Commission. The EASE program aims to evaluate the effects of high penetration solar energy and battery storage systems on the grid. In exchange for customer participation, EASE offers up to 100 eligible participants serviced by the Camden Substation, in Santa Ana, significant financial assistance to deploy solar energy systems.

    Solar-Log® & Kitu Boost Availability of Rule 21 Solutions in CA

    March 16, 2020. Bethel, CT - Solar-LogTM and Kitu Systems, Inc. announce a collaboration to offer expert solar plant monitoring, control, and communication solutions which meet the new California’s Rule 21 mandate. Starting on March 22nd, all smart inverters deployed with solar and energy storage installations in California are required to be capable of communications with the utility and provide a set of grid-support functions.

    SunSpec Alliance Advances Security for DER Systems

    October 22, 2019. The SunSpec Alliance and members Doosan Gridtech, Kitu Systems, and Wivity announced the creation of the SunSpec Blockchain Work Group. The work group will create requirements and specifications for a decentralized application to protect the security credentials of Distributed Energy Resource (DER) systems such as solar PV systems and electric vehicles.
