Kitu Systems Powers EV Charging Expansion at Willy’s Overland Lofts in Detroit

San Diego, CA | May 19, 2026 -  Kitu Systems, a leading provider of clean energy solutions for Electric Vehicle (EV) charging and Distributed Energy Resource (DER) management, announces the successful deployment of its Expedition Charge Management System (CMS) at Willy’s Overland Lofts, a residential condominium community. The system went officially live on April 20, 2026, deploying 10 new FractalEV charging stations on Kitu’s Expedition platform. 

Located at 444 W. Willis Street in Detroit, Michigan, the new deployment expands the existing EV charging ecosystem at Willy’s Overland Lofts, which already includes 18 Kitu-managed chargers. With the addition of the FractalEV L2 stations, the community now offers a combined total of 28 EV charging ports, making it one of the more equipped residential charging sites in the Detroit area.

As a homeowner's association community where all chargers are individually owned by residents, Willy’s Overland Lofts required a solution that could accommodate a unique billing and access model. Kitu's Expedition CMS was configured as an access-only site, with residents enrolled as corporate users through the HOA. This arrangement means drivers are not required to enter credit card or billing information in the mobile app and all charges flow through the HOA's existing billing structure, keeping the experience simple for homeowners.
